My name is Amy S. Kennaugh, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (MA, NCC, LPC). As part of the Balance Counseling & Therapy team, I am dedicated to supporting individuals in their healing journeys. Therapy offers hurting individuals the opportunity to talk through, identify, and heal their life struggles.
I am licensed by the State of Ohio (CSMFT Board, C.2406634) and Illinois (178.016971) and hold a Master’s degree in Counseling. My goal as a professional is to create a safe environment where open and judgment-free communication can flourish.
I work with a wide range of clients, including preteens to elders, individuals, couples, families, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. My areas of specialization include Coping Skills, Stress, and Family Conflict. Beyond these primary areas, I offer expertise in Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Addiction, Domestic Abuse, Life Transitions, and more. I welcome people of all cultures, including first responders and their families, to my office for therapy sessions.
Using a person-centered approach, I incorporate various behavioral techniques, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, I offer neurofeedback and neurotherapy for those dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. I am also trained in multiple types of therapy, including Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Solution-Focused Brief therapy (SFBT).
As part of the Balance Counseling & Therapy team, I am committed to making quality care accessible. I accept most major insurance providers, including Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance, so everyone can access the care they need. I also offer out-of-network options. Payments can be made in Cash, Check, Mastercard, or Visa.
